Story Requirements:
Themes: Stories must explore digital themes relevant to African youth, including:
- Cyber safety and online fraud
- Sextortion
- Social media impacts on mental health
- Digital privacy and personal data
- AI and emerging technologies
- Digital citizenship and responsible tech use
- Emerging digital harms - e.g. AI-generated deep fakes and synthetic media used for fraud and defamation, automated harassment campaigns using AI tools, large-scale scam content and disinformation, algorithmic bias and discrimination, behavioral manipulation via microtargeting, job displacement from automation, digital addiction through exploitative design
Audience: Stories should be appropriate for and appeal to teenage readers (12-17)
Length: 2,000-5,000 words
Language: English (with appropriate incorporation of local languages/expressions encouraged)
Setting: Stories must be set in contemporary African contexts (rural or urban)
Authenticity: Characters should reflect realistic experiences of African youth and their relationship with technology
Technical Requirements:
Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) or PDF
Font: Times New Roman, 12-point, double-spaced
Margins: 1-inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
Header: Include page numbers and story title in the header
Submission Process:

- Nationality (must be Nigerian, Ghanaian, South African, or Ethiopian)
- Brief bio (100 words max)
- Story title and word count
- Brief synopsis (150 words max)

- Subject line: "Digital Anthology Submission - [YOUR NAME] - [COUNTRY]"
- Attach story as a separate file named: "YourName_StoryTitle"
- Rights: Authors retain copyright but grant Storymoja non-exclusive rights in print and digital formats. Selected authors will receive $200 USD for accepted stories.
- Payment: Selected authors will receive $200 USD and a copy of the published anthology
