Mueni tried to open her mouth to scream, but the sound in her throat froze. She started running. She did not know where she was heading to. She kept on running without looking back. The dogs ran after her. Her life relied on her legs. She reached a place where a barbed wire fence joined with the concrete perimeter wall. There was a small opening at the meeting point. She held her breath and crawled out of Mr Mashaka’s farm through the small Space. Will Mueni get a chance to participate in the upcoming music competition following the trouble with Mr. Mashaka?
