CALL FOR NOMINATIONS — FONLON-NICHOLS AWARD

The ALA Executive Council invites Nominations from the world African community for the FONLON-NICHOLS Award for Excellence in Creative Writing and Contributions to the Struggle for Human Rights and Freedom of Expression. It is given every year to an African writer.
The Award was established in 1992 to honor BERNARD FONLON and LEE NICHOLS for their own contributions to both African literature and freedom of expression. This year the award will be publicly presented at the 36th annual conference of the African Literature Association March 10 – 14, 2010 to be held in THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA, TUSCON (Conference website: http://www.uvm.edu/conferences/ALA2010; ALA website: http://www.africanlit.org/)
Please send a brief (500 word) justification for your nomination in the body of emails and as attachment to olaoye@monmouth.edu. Hard copy of text can also be mailed to:
