Playwriting Workshop Begins in October 2009

Master Publishing begins a new series of writing workshops, this time focusing on playwriting, specifically the one-act play and the monologue. It runs for six Saturdays, starting from 24th October to 28th November, 10AM to 1PM. The venue will be the same as the recently concluded fiction writing workshop, at Hibiscus Guesthouse on Kirichwa Road, near the Masaba Hospital. (Check out the Web site for a map to its location.) Anybody 18 years and above is welcome to join.
The workshop includes on-site writing exercises, evaluations, dramatisations, interactions with theatre personalities, and one-on-one consultations during the week. There will be a forum devoted to the business of theatre, especially for those who would like to produce their works. Because of the writing exercises, participants are strongly encouraged to carry laptops during the sessions.
The workshop fee is KES 9,000, inclusive of training packet, food, and facilitation costs. Deadline for full payment is 14th October 2009. You may opt for a two-instalment payment schedule (with the first on or before 3rd October). Payments may be made via Mpesa, Zap, cash, cheque, or bank transfer.
