VIKRAM SETH – Indian Poet, Novelist and Travel Writer at the SHFK

Vikram Seth (b. 1952) is an Indian poet, novelist, and travel writer. Seth is perhaps best known for his extraordinary thousand-page epic of post-independence India, A Suitable Boy, which was an international bestseller, moving over a million copies. In addition to his fiction, Seth is the author of a memoir, Two Lives, five volumes of poetry, and The Golden Gate, a novel in verse. He is the recipient of the Commonwealth Writers Prize (Overall Winner, Best Book) and the Commonwealth Poetry Prize (Asia) as well as numerous other awards and honors. A sequel to A Suitable Boy is tentatively scheduled for publication in 2013.
