Ms. Lorna Omuodo is the Founder and Programme Director of Vanilla Development Foundation (VDF). VDF has developed rural farmer’s capacity towards bio fuel production using Jatropha as a candidate crop for Kenya’s clean energy security and bio energy needs.
Lorna is an enthusiastic environmentalist and conservationist with the community at heart. A Sociologist from University of Punjab, India she is a member of the National Biofuel committee involved in drafting a strategic plan for biofuels in Kenya. Her professional touch and overview knowledge on most possibilities of bio-diesel and Bio-ethanol for Kenya makes her a lead consultant. She has been a leading advisor to Governments on matters of policy and biofuel development in Africa. Using her 25 years senior management and programme development skills, she provides technical advice, consultancy to private sector, non-governmental and research organizations amongst other works on bio-diesel and bio ethanol projects.She has a wide network of persons from the value chains to include universities and international affiliations
