<description>I think the most excuse authors/writer use is the assumption that Kenyans are poor readers. I recently did an interview with a self-publishing author who alluded to this fact but clarified something that is often overlooked. Kenyans are selective readers (follow link to read the whole interview). His premise is that if you have a book that &#039;speaks&#039; to them, their chance of buying your book in whatever genre is greatly increased. http://nairobi.tujuane.com/featuresview.php?mediaID=242&amp;ID=9

On the issue of getting good editors in Kenya is subjective but have met a number of editors depending on your need. I am a business writer (features) and feel most comfortable editing material in business because of the familiarity of the subject. However, this is not to say one cannot edit in other genres provided they understand the rules of that genre.

I also do believe aspiring authors, companies and businesses in whatever genre should consider using ghost writer if time and resources are a constraints on their part. I do believe this will clear &#039;kenyanise&#039; our bookshelves. I, for one, is a ghost writer.
