The part about what it takes to be a good writer left me rather tickled. What do you know about that! Have you ever been published to critical acclaim? What are your credentials to dictate on what it takes? The irony of it all is that it’s you who inadvertently ended up sounding like an “ignorant (whining) buffoon”. Has a certain “Nation” writer rubbed you the wrong way perhaps? Because your article sounded more like a personal attack, petty vendetta even. 

Really wish you’d get over it already and stick to more interesting matters such as what new reading there is out there.
