The Women in Leadership Forum: 28th February, 2009

February 17th, 2009  |  Published in News

“It’s the little things,” Mildred says of her training sessions, “that can make the difference. Anybody representing their company in a meeting, or even Kenya on the global stage, from boardrooms to classrooms to the performance stage and track and field events, must know that for many people, he or she is their first encounter with the company, or with Kenya . How we behave in these contexts is important—our personal and national reputation rests on it.”

Do you realize that your verbal communication constitutes only 7% of what you communicate and that a staggering 93% is non verbal? What do you communicate? What impression do you leave people with? Do you know that you can deliberately create your desired impression each and every time?

Storymoja’s Women in Leadership forum invites you to attend an intensive three hour training and discussion session on business and social etiquette.

The business and etiquette session will take place at Storymoja grounds in Spring Valley, Nairobi on 28th February 2009 at 2pm to 6pm. (Please see attached map)

This interactive session will be led by Ms. Mildred Awiti, Kenya ‘s first Super Model, who is also a sales training consultant with leading corporate clients, an entrepreneur, and a civic leader. Mildred trains business executives, civil servants, athletes, journalists, models, and diplomats how to carry and conduct themselves in ways consistent with global standards of courtesy, etiquette and interaction, while maintaining our Kenyan inflections and personal identities.

In addition, Mildred will talk about colours that work for you. If you come dressed in what you think best suits you, she will offer specific advice on what works and what doesn’t.

As usual, Muthoni Garland will moderate to ensure as wide a participation in the discussion as possible. Mildred is funny and real and she will make you laugh and see yourself in a new way.

We’ve negotiated for subsidized rate of Ksh 1000 per participant and encourage you to take full advantage. To book your place we encourage you to Mpesa the money to 0720 722 991. If you wish to book tickets for three or more, you may write a cheque addressed to Storymoja and call us on 020-2089595 to deliver the tickets.

This is a one of a kind opportunity to reinvent ourselves as we glide up or entrench ourselves on the corporate and social ladder. Only by sharing can we grow.

There is great strength in numbers! Please spread the word.

Welcome!
