Storymoja Writer of the Week

Janet Mbugua, Newscaster with KTN Television. Grew up in Mombasa, schooled there as well as in Nairobi as a boarding school student. Worked at Capital FM as a mid-morning presenter for just under a year in 2003 before leaving for further studies in Cape Town and Malaysia. Started writing in high school, notably a school play titled And so the Story Goes, that won the best script award for inter-house drama competition at Brook House school where I sat my I.G.C.S.E’s and A.S Level examinations. Picked up writing again last year and working on releasing a collection of poems and short-stories that cover a wide range of topics, mostly for women.

I do like your story. It is a pity writing is still a fledgling industry in Kenya and Africa as a whole, making creative minds dormant. But anyway we appreciate you as a writer as much as a T.V presenter.

    Beautiful.
