The Editorial Board of the journal of the School of Visual and Performing Arts is issuing a call for papers. The Theme is:
Integrated Approaches to Art Education: Breaking Barriers and Building Bridges
Interdisciplinarity in alluding to an approach to organizing intellectual inquiry is an evolving field. A transdisciplinary community is one in which common knowledge of the collective are identical for the purpose of addressing a common challenge. Knowledge production is never conceived in a flat, horizontal plane. Knowledge is produced from varieties of organizations and collective entities and these can be conceived as subsisting in a vertical plane. Integration or interrelation of disciplinary generated knowledge and non-disciplinary knowledge and application to problems and issues may lead to new insights.
Papers are invited that interrogate visual and performing Arts from multi-disciplinary, cross-disciplinary or interdisciplinary perspectives.
Abstracts should be received by 31st December 2008 and full papers should be received by 31st January 2009. A concise bio-data of the author should accompany the paper. Electronic copies of the paper should be sent to: chairman-filmtech@ku.ac.ke or mugubi.john@ku.ac.ke.
