The Woman is traditionally involved in nurturing roles. Because of evolving socio-cultural trends it is not enough for a woman to be a mother and caregiver. There is a strong demand for women in the workforce, not only in supporting roles but also in managing and administration roles. The woman is constantly called upon to be a leader in the business world and in Society. She cannot however, be a good leader unless she is aware of her strengths. She cannot be a good leader if she does not have a voice.
The Storymoja Women in Leadership Series was created with a view to reinvigorating the voice of the woman, by helping her to look beyond limitations whether society made or personally made. The Series, which ran from July 3rd, has been a forum for free and respectful discussion. It is aimed at capturing a woman’s personal growth, to highlight the tribulations and barriers that hold her back and the process through which the successful women have broken past these said barriers.
