The fact that we are already well into the holiday season does not dim the fact that a lot of people, you, me and all of us are angry with some things that are going on in our country. Before we totally lose it and find ourselves in another conflict, let us take the time to consider how conflict begins, how it affects each one of us, and how we should deal with things that are not working the way they should.
Storymoja presents a read for you, your child and the entire family and community, In the Land of the Kitchen, where none of us is greater than all of us. Available in bookstores and supermarkets now! You will also love the other children’s books, Kamau’s Finish and Peanut and the Burning Tank. For older readers, this Christmas we present you with Brethren of Ngondu by Martin Njaga, and Halfway Between Nairobi and Dundori by Muthoni Garland.
On to other matters. Next year, perhaps in January or maybe later in the year, a few thousand Kenyans will go to College for the very first time. High School? Nothing much, my dear. You need Boniface Gachugu to prepare you for your First Day in College!
You will also recognise Paul Kariuki’s Politician, and wise up to his antics coming up very soon in your town.
Finally, as the year draws to a close, one writer goes back to her Growing Up Diary. Hopefully, she will learn lessons for the next year.
